Starting college can be a nerve wracking experience! A lot of fear settles in the hearts and minds of these young beings. Making new friends can be a challenge for many. A feeling of acceptance and belonging yearns in these 18 and 19 year olds as they start their college journey. I co-founded Delta Beta Tau 4 years ago to be a safe community for all at San Diego State University. This past Sunday night I listened to people introduce themselves, coming from all parts of the world. 54 new pledges start as strangers and 4 months from now will be friends for life connected by a bond that is DBT. Delta Beta Tau welcomed in the Fall 2019 Pledge Class on Sunday. We are excited to strengthen this community as we learn from each other while providing service to the community, going on retreats, hosting guest Buddhist teachers and holding weekly meditation at SDSU. Our motto is for the benefit of others and now we will share this will with a new group of students at SDSU.

Thank you to the incredible leadership of DBT our Executive Team Alyssa Skites, Maya Parella, Jeanette Giovanniello, Leah Starr, Leila Yasha, Claire Kelly, Norah O'Neill and Pledge Educators Ben Frame, Loryn Nieto, Ryan Corp and the Ethics Council Cathy Cooper, Alyssa Skites, Dylan Ramirez and all who make this possible! #ftboo
